TRM98 is a compact digital headend device used in TV / satellite installations.

Code: ANTTRM98
Stock: 5

The TRM 98 is used to receive, convert, process, and re-distribute many television (and sometimes radio) channels from satellite / terrestrial sources, to a bunch of users (e.g. in a hotel, hospital, or residential complex)

Product Description
Product specification

  • Multiple satellite inputs (4 LNB / wide-band inputs) It can connect to 4 satellite feeds. This allows capturing many satellite transponders (signals) from different satellites or different polarizations / frequency bands.

  • 8 tuners / demodulators DVB-S / S2 / S2X / multistream / BISS The unit can demodulate up to 8 streams (transponders) from the satellite inputs. These include newer standard DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X, which support higher efficiency and more channels per transponder; “multistream” allows one transponder to carry multiple streams. BISS is a form of encryption / scrambling often used in satellite broadcasting.

  • Dual-quad DVB-T/C output / modulation After receiving satellite signals, the TRM98 converts (transmodulates) them into terrestrial-style signals: DVB-T (COFDM) or DVB-C (QAM). “Dual-quad” means it can produce two quads of outputs (i.e. 2×4 = 8 output channels) in those formats. This is useful for distributing over coaxial cables inside a building, or other internal networks.

  • Wide output frequency ranges For DVB-T/ COFDM the output frequency might be in e.g. ~170-230 MHz, ~470-862 MHz (depending on local terrestrial channel planning); for DVB-C similarly wide frequency ranges. This gives flexibility to avoid interference, match the existing cable infrastructure and licences.

  • Adjustable level, good signal quality The unit allows setting output levels, has specifications for MER (Modulation Error Ratio), etc., meaning a well-tuned output with low errors.
